High Street Vintage

Do you love Vintage clothes, but hate some of the prices?
Well visit your local Sainsburys and then your in luck, for some inspired vintage pieces.

(I tried to write that like an old advert)

I love 40/50/60s - Everything from the Music to the homeware, but something I love the most is the clothes. Whilst with my mum shopping in Sainsburys a while back I noticed a lot of dresses and skirts all inspired by the 40's and 50's- The style, cut and prints. Now Sainsburys isn't somewhere everyone would look for clothes and especially someone my age, but Sainsburys have some great pieces- Especially if you, like me like vintage.
These are two of my favourite things I have picked up from Sainsburys. The white skirt is a perfect summer piece with the light fabrics and lovely floral pattern - I picked this up in one of there half price sales fro £9. Another favourite is this black dress covered in yellow and orange parrots, again light fabric perfect for summer but also transitional into autumn and winter - This again was picked  up in one of there half price sales but I cant remember the price. Both skirts on these come just above the knee and perfect for creating a circle when you spin around - key....
Neither of these two things are still available as far as I am aware but Sainsburys do some nice dresses with a 40's and 50's feel - I have my eye on a navy spotty tea dress.
1940 and 50's are two of my favourite eras for clothes and hair, and I love looking at original vintage pieces of clothes until I see some of the prices. I think really, with vintage clothes shopping you have to go to the right places to get the bargains, some places throw any old price on things just because of the era its from.

I like to scroll through Pinterest as well as Instagram all the time to gain vintage outfit inspiration. To then create something which is inspired by the images I have found. Both outfits above are inspired by 50's and the other call the midwife (so still 50's), Yellow floral dress I picked up in Next a while ago, I dressed this up with vintage inspired accessories as well as some vintage hair. Whilst I posed with the Tardis at Chatham Dockyards I wore some dark black and purple tartan trousers (Primark) and a white knit jumper (charity shop), Inspired by an outfit Jenny Lee wore in Call the Midwife.

I am always looking out for some vintage inspired pieces in high street shops as well as charity shops that are inexpensive - Sainsburys is the best in my opinion for inspired pieces.

Know anywhere to get some affordable vintage pieces?
Leave places in the comments.

Primark Haul || Autumn 2014

Its been a while. The last time I went into Primark to buy anything for my self was way back in June and I only brought a couple of tops and this time I only brought one :(  . Primark had a lot of things I really liked and when I tried them on they had a really odd shape or they didnt have my size. I am in desperate need of new tops but I dont want to constantly keep getting band t-shirts or graphic t-shirts. I love my collared shirts and Primark had tones I liked but the majority of them were so sheer, I picked up one I fell in love with not sheer and a perfect autumn colour. Tried it on when I got home, moved my arm gap appears where the buttons do up...oh hey bra, this is going back because it would get on my nerves so much.  I will stop rambling and get on with my haul.
After buying these a couple of weeks ago I now understand why people love them so much, so I picked up another pack. £4
When Primark fist opened in town a couple of months ago I spotted these as I was walking through. I went back a couple of days later to have a look at them properly they had completely vanish. The same thing kept happening when ever I went in, but today I found them hidden away and they became mine.  Rolling Stones PJ bottoms- £8
I had seen these in someone's blog post or video and never thought they would be in my local Primark and when I spotted some Harry Potter t-shirts I found these hidden among them. They are Grey joggers with the Hogwarts logo (cant think of the actual name) and the word hogwarts down one leg. £10
I wear leggings the majority of the time and thought it would be about time I picked up some more of the skinny fit jeans from Primark. £11
Love. £1.50
There was no top that matched the Rolling Stones PJ bottoms so I picked up a plain blue top from the mens section. £2.50

As if I needed another band t-shirt  picked up this baseball styled Ramones t-shirt. I love this because it is different compared to all these other people going around with the normal Ramones t-shirts on.
£8

I hope you have enjoyed this small Primark Haul.

Primark Haul

Made a little visit to Primark.
I needed some warm winter stuff like Jumpers ect but i couldn't really find any jumpers that i really liked and wanted.I need to find some...i only have two.

I have been looking at Christmas Candles in every shop i have been into which has a typical Christmas smell. I had found one in fenwicks which had the most amazing Christmas scent but i wasn't up to spending £7.50 on a candle that was half the size of a can of soup. I went into Primark and found this which has a very light christmassy smell. Its a 3 wick candle and is only £3.50.

I have such a struggle to find any rings that fit my fingers but i found this set of 6 in there for only £2. The set has a ring with a stud on it but i saw when i came out the shop i didn't have a stud on it. To be honest though i don't mind i didn't really like it.
I have no idea where any of my gloves have gone from last year but i thought i would by some new ones. These were only £2.50
I saw this in Zoella's recent Primark Haul video and reallllyyy wanted to get one. This was from the mens section of Primark, It's a blue, white and red fairisle print which i loveee. I went on the hunt for one of the plain bobble hats for when i dont want to wear such a loud print but there were only white ones left or horrible ones with bits of glitter in them, so im just going to get one from New Look. £3.00

I LOVE anything with Moustache's on and saw this and had to have it. Its just White with Black Moutache's allll over it. This was only £2.50

Basic Muppet Christmas wrapping Paper i got to wrap both my brothers presents in. This was only £1.
 Studded collars
I was looking for this shirt for absolutely ages in my size and finalllyyy found it today. I love it, Its very sheer and cream with Kolas all over it, Long Sleeves with studded Collars. This was only £12, which i didn't think was all that bad for a nice shirt.

Instead of a jumper i found a cardigan, I have a Green Hoodie from Primark that i absolutely love...i wear it farrr to much though and really needed something else to wear over the top of things. I found this cardigan, I don't know whether to call it a fairisle print...It reminds me of something my Grandpa and Grandad would have worn.  This was £14.
I also got a Black Snood which was £5 and a Pain white t-shirt which was £4. These were hard to photograph so i left them out.
